Most Agencies Disappear the Day Your Website Launches
Build, bill, and leave is the standard model. It is why so many businesses own a website nobody has looked at since the day it went live.
Build, bill, and leave is the standard agency model. It is why so many businesses own a website nobody has looked at since the day it went live.
Launch day is the start of the work, not the end of it.
A website is a tool, not a brochure
Your visitors tell you something every week. Which page they read. Which one they leave. What they searched to find you. Which service they actually want, as opposed to the one you lead with.
That information is already being recorded. Almost nobody reads it.
What I do after launch
Analytics set up around your business, not around defaults. It records the events that matter to you. A submitted form, a clicked phone number, a completed booking, a downloaded price list.
A monthly read of the numbers, in plain terms. What changed, what caused it, and the one thing worth doing about it this month.
Search work that follows the data. Which questions bring people in, and which pages must exist that do not.
Changes made, not just recommended. A report nobody acts on is an invoice.
One example
For the Creston Valley's tourism society, Google search is now the largest single source of visitors to their site. It carries 43% of all traffic, ahead of both direct visits and paid ads. New visitors grew 155% between 2023 and 2025.
That result changed the budget as much as the writing. The audience they reach for free is now larger than the audience they pay for, so ad money fills gaps instead of carrying the site.

The rest of what a site needs
Websites decay. Prices change, staff change, services change, and links to other sites break quietly. A site left alone for two years is usually wrong in a dozen small ways that each cost you a customer.
I also handle the surrounding pieces: hosting, email, integrations with the tools you already use, and print design that matches the site.
What to expect from whoever built your site
Ask them three questions. What did the site do last month? Which page performs worst? What do we change next?
If they cannot answer, you do not have a partner. You have a receipt.
